Hi, and welcome to my Web page (such as it is). I am an astronomer and assistant professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at YSU. Prior to this position I was a Research Associate at Penn State University, working with Robin Ciardullo and Steinn Sigurdsson on studies of intracluster stars and planetary nebulae in nearby galaxies and galaxy clusters. I also carry out research on stars and stars clusters in nearby galaxies, in order to understand how galaxies formed and evolved. Further details on my research (past, present and future) can be found here. From this list above you can see that I get around just a little bit too much. The photo above is me at Kitt Peak National Observatory, where I was observing in March 2006.

I am also very interested in astronomy education, and I have not only taught many university-level classes in astronomy, but I have been involved in numerous public outreach events (telescope observing, demonstrations, public lectures, planetarium shows) for over 20 years. As for other things...do I have time for other interests? Hell NO yes! Hobbies include photography (digital and film), and hockey (ah yes, a good Canadian boy...); more information on what little I do outside of astronomy can be found here.
