Frank Akpadock is a senior research economist/regional scientist, Economic Development Research at the Center for Urban and Regional Studies,Youngstown State University,Youngstown, One University Plaza, Youngstown, Ohio (Penguinland); since 1991. Dr. Akpadock received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 1990, College Station (Aggieland), Texas. As a regional scientist, Dr. Akpadock's research interests are in Regionalism, Applied Economic Development Research, Economics Model Building, Community Economic Development Analyses, Transportation & land Use Planning, Housing, and Neighborhood Revitalization .  To contribute to a body of  regional science analytical knowledge, he developed a model that can assess the strength or its lack thereof, of a regional economy. This model was published in a peer reviewed journal--The Journal of Community Development Society. Dr. Akpadock publishes extensively on regional economic development issues.  His latest publication is a book chapter titled: "Patrick Ungaro, Brownfield Redevelopment, and Revitalization in Youngstown, OH," in Governing Middle-Sized Cities--Studies in Mayoral Leadership (James R. Bowers & Wilbur C. Rich, eds.), Boulder, Colorado, Lynne Rienner Publishers Inc., 2000
