TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Student Teaching: As an undergraduate I
completed the coursework to become certified to teach mathematics and psychology
courses in grades 7 12. Spring semester 1987, for my student teaching
experience, I taught Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Calculus at
YSU - Faculty in Residence: During the school
year 2000/2001, I was granted 10 s.h. faculty release time to observe and teach
classes in local elementary and middle schools. I worked with several
mathematics classes at each of the grade levels 1 through 6. The main goal of
this project was the improvement of pre-service and in-service teacher courses
at YSU. Following this experience, several YSU courses were revised and
modified. This project was funded by a Title II grant The Tri-County Partnership
for Excellence in Teacher Education.
Taught a Summer Camp Math Course for 5th
grade students, June 2000.
Taught a Summer Camp Math Course for 5th
& 6th grade students, June & August 2001.
Taught a Summer Camp Math Course for 3rd
& 4th grade students, August 2001.

Worked with a group of Kennedy Catholic high
school students to help them prepare a research project in the area of graph
theory (2002 2003). They presented the project at a national conference in
YSU - Faculty in Residence: During the school year 2003/2004, I was granted 4 s.h. faculty release time to continue working with local elementary and middle schools. This project was funded by the Title II grant The Tri-County Partnership for Excellence in Teacher Education.
Over the years, I have
assisted in a variety of on- and off - campus events (contests, technology
workshops, hands-on math demonstrations, math fairs, etc.) involving local
elementary and middle school students and teachers.
