What services are available?
Health care is available for illness, injury, first aid, and routine health checks. Health screening tests, physical exams for sports and academic programs, gynecological exams, as well as consultations and referrals are provided. Allergy shots are also administered by appointment if serum and written instructions are provided by the student’s allergist. Flu shots and immunizations are also given; however, there are charges for these injections. Please call the Health Clinic for details. The Health Clinic also provides information on Student Health Insurance. Details concerning the policy are available by clicking on 'Insurance' in the menu on the left.

Where is the Student Health Clinic?
The Health Clinic’s offices are located on the first floor of Kilcawley House, which is adjacent to Kilcawley Center. The entrance to the Health Clinic is located off of University Plaza.

Is there a doctor on campus?
Licensed physicians staff the Health Clinic twelve (12) hours per week during the semester. Appointments are required. Students must call 330.941.3489 to schedule an appointment. During break weeks and summer term, physicians have limited hours; however, nurses are available Monday-Friday, year round.

Who can use YSU’s Student Health Clinic?
The Clinic provides health care to currently enrolled YSU students. Both students living on campus, as well as those commuting may visit the Health Clinic.

What’s the office fee?
Office visits are free! Students do not need to have student health insurance to use the Clinic’s services. Blood tests, x-rays, lab tests, etc., ordered by YSU’s Health Clinic physician, are done off campus at the student’s choice of provider and at the student’s expense.

Who gets to know?
Student records are kept strictly confidential. Information cannot be released to anyone, including parents, faculty, and YSU administration without the written consent of the student. Certain public health diseases, however, must be reported to the Department of Health as required by law.
