| NORTHEAST OHIO REGIONAL
LEADERSHIP TASKFORCE
The Consortium was formed in 1979 as part of The Ohio Urban University Program (UUP) to provide research and analysis and to facilitate regional networking among institutions and organizations. The Consortium's World Class Region Initiative explores the critical path to global economic competitiveness. Consortium research seeks to catalyze effective regional responses by identifying the region's industry clusters and drivers, benchmarking the region's emerging workforce needs, and anticipating economic challenges. The research consortium provides support for the work of the Northeast Ohio Regional Leadership Taskforce including quarterly meetings, a website www.neolead.com , NEO Regional Day, regional surveys and an annual Regional Day Report.
THE NORTHEAST OHIO REGIONAL LEADERSHIP TASKFORCE The taskforce was formed in 1995 by the Northeast Ohio Research Consortium with the support of the Ohio Urban University Program. The university partners include Cleveland State University, Kent State University, The University of Akron and Youngstown State University. The leadership partners include representatives of 19 community leadership programs serving northeast Ohio and a representative of the Northeastern Ohio graduates of Leadership Ohio. Two programs are currently inactive, Leadership SHAKER and Leadership Euclid, though their alumni remain in the Taskforce database. In addition, the Taskforce includes representation from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Lorain County Community College and Team NEO. The research consortium has been involved in studies that promote the regional competitiveness of northeast Ohio. The taskforce is designed to help disseminate the knowledge gained from this research via the community leadership program networks, to assist in the development of regional components for program curricula, and to promote alumni understanding of the assets and challenges of the region.
