FIRE EXTINGUISHER ACQUISITION
Portable fire extinguishers on campus can be obtained only by authorized personnel. A stock of spare extinguishers is kept and maintained at the Chemical Management Center. A quantity of the most frequently used types are kept. These are kept for emergency situations due to discharge or vandalism. For an authorized person to acquire an extinguisher they should do the following:
A. Call (Ext.3703) or come to the Chemical Management Center.
B. Bring discharged, non-working or vandalized extinguisher. (If extinguisher is stolen, report it as such and it will be replaced).
C. Fill out and sign a Fire Extinguisher Report Form that includes the location and reason for discharge etc.
D. Obtain replacement extinguisher and put in old one's place.
Note: Fire extinguishers can be used on a temporary basis and returned, (i.e. football game fireworks).
