Welcome to my website! I'd like to briefly describe my role in the Leslie H. Cochran University Scholars Program and University Honors Programs.

There are several facets to my position but I'll focus on those that pertain to direct service to the students. I assist prospective students and parents with their campus visits, as they explore Youngstown State University and the Leslie H. Cochran Scholars & Honors Programs determining if there exists a good fit between the student and the university.

After students matriculate into the university, I work with all of the University Scholars & Honors Program members throughout their academic endeavors at Youngstown State University and after graduation. I assist students with developing their plan for the completion of the Honors program, engaging in meaningful volunteer activities, exploring outside-of-the-classroom activities to enrich their educational experience and most importantly, being there to listen whenever needed. I spend time writing personalized letters of recommendations for current students and alumni applying to graduate schools, internships, study abroad experiences and employment opportunities.

In addition to the advising and counseling I do, I am the instructor for the Introduction to Honors Seminar, providing the students with the opportunity to connect with each other, the staff and gain a solid understanding of the expectations of Honors students. Students, who take the Introduction to Honors Seminar, have a higher retention and completion rate in the Honors Program.

I'm 100% committed to the students that I serve and want to foster a supportive environment that is conducive for academic and personal growth.
